Katy Perry revealed she has just celebrated her daughter Daisy Dove’s second birthday onboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship, NCL Prima, where she was joined by dozens of members of the UK travel industry.

The popstar is godmother to NCL Prima, which she named in a glittering ceremony in Iceland’s capital Reykjavik on Saturday.

Speaking on the stage of the ship’s theatre, Perry revealed she had brought her whole family with her, including actor husband Orlando Bloom.

And she said she had ‘probably one of the best ever nights’ celebrating Daisy Dove’s second birthday in her suite on the ship the previous evening.

“I was dancing round the room, she was riding me like a cowboy,” she told the audience, which included another ship godmother, Hays Travel owner Dame Irene Hays.

Katy Perry went on to say she had never been on a ‘proper’ cruise before, but she told NCL CEO Frank J Del Rio on stage that NCL Prima was ‘very elegant’, adding that she ‘wouldn’t do this for any other cruise line’.

The star said also said she was looking forward to beating everyone’s kids on the ship’s unique three-tier race track later that evening.

She went on to give a show-stopping performance, at one stage walking amongst the audience who’d joined the ship for its inaugural sailing from Reykjavik to Amsterdam.

During the show, during which she sang many of her hits, Perry regularly looked to the balcony where Bloom and little Daisy Dove were dancing to the music, along with other members of her entourage.

The star remained on the cruise, taking part in its Sunday evening show, The Price is Right, together with Bloom, and later she mingled with guests at the disco.

Travel Gossip’s review of NCL Prima will follow.
