Police in Spain had to go to the aid of a tourist who fell asleep on a bus from Palma airport and woke to find himself locked inside a garage.

The German holidaymaker had taken the Aerotib bus and then fell asleep for hours, according to Majorca Daily Bulletin.

The driver, who was unaware someone was still on the bus at the end of his shift left it locked inside the bus garage on an industrial estate.

When the tourist woke he called 112 emergency services and police were sent to request the depot security guards unlock the bus and free him.
