Staff at Pole Travel in Manchester have been out and about spreading Christmas cheer dressed as Santa and his elf.

The agents, based in Failsworth, have been personally delivering Lapland tickets to clients’ homes, as well as visiting local care homes, wearing Christmas costumes.

Pole Travel also organises the Failsworth Christmas Lights Switch On and fundraises for the annual event.

Owner Jill Waite said: “As well as the Failsworth Christmas Lights, it has become a tradition for us to visit the care homes, bringing a bit of Christmas cheer. We play music, have a dance, take chocolates and a tipple, as well as some wrapped presents, as many of the residents have no family.

“And if customers book a trip to Lapland, we go round with the elf and a little pressie, surprising them.

“We’ve done this for about four years, and it’s lovely to see their little faces when the elf is at the door with a note asking them to come to Lapland.”
