Cruise line P&O Cruises has revealed that its most popular ship for Wave bookings in January was Iona.
The ship is currently sailing from Southampton to Spain and the Canary Islands, and in the summer will head to the Norwegian Fjords.
This ties in with the line’s most popular destinations for bookings in January which included the Norwegian Fjords, the Atlantic Islands and the Caribbean.
P&O Cruises added it had seen ‘record-breaking’ sales volume for the month, but did not release any figures. It added there had been a pattern of a longer lead in times for bookings.
President Paul Ludlow said: “The beginning of this year’s Wave has once again surpassed all expectations with record-breaking sales indicating a renewed confidence in the holiday market and the excellent value for money that you get with a P&O Cruises holiday.
“We entered 2024 better booked so we have less reliance on the lates market which is better for us and better for agents in terms of earnings potential.”
P&O Cruises is running its Wave offers until early March. Anyone booking select cruises of at least seven nights in an outside cabin with a 10% deposit by 4 March will receive 20% off a classic drinks package.
