Passengers flying from some London airports are facing significant disruption today due to ongoing train strikes.
Rail workers have been taking part in one-day walkouts between Friday 5 April and today (8 April) affecting lines including Southern, Gatwick Express, Thameslink, Great Northern, Greater Anglia, Southeastern, South Western Railway and c2c.
There are no Gatwick Express services running, and there are only limited Southern services calling at Gatwick Airport and London Victoria.
Gatwick Airport posted on X, formerly Twitter: “Services are expected to be extremely busy. Plan ahead and allow more time to travel.”
Meanwhile, Stansted Express is running an hourly service from London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport, instead of its usual four trains an hour.
Thameslink is running a limited number of shuttle services between St Pancras, Luton Airport Parkway and Luton and Kings Cross to Cambridge.
Better news is that strikes by London Underground drivers that had been scheduled for today have been called off.
