Norwegian cruise line Havila Voyages has been forced to cancel a second cruise after failing to secure insurance for its ship, Havila Capella.

The cruise was due to depart from Bergen in Norway on Thursday.

However, Havila hasn’t managed to get insurance for the ship since the Russian-owned parent company of its Hong Kong financier was sanctioned by the EU.

“We are constantly working to find a temporary solution to put Havila Capella back in schedule. At the same time, we are working on a permanent solution which means that we take ownership of the ship,” said CEO Bent Martini.

“This is a demanding situation for us, and it is difficult to estimate on how long this will take.”

Havila had previously cancelled a round-trip along the Norwegian coast, which had been due to depart on 15 May.
