Start-up homeworking agency The Good Travel Franchise has launched an e-learning platform to enable it to train agents much faster.

The new online process will replace its existing five-day face-to-face training course, allowing homeworkers to start their training as soon as they sign up.

Chief Executive and co-founder Jake Cullum-Hollins said the online course, divided into bite size chunks, should take agents five to 10 days to complete.

“While they are completing the training we will be busy getting their websites built and system access ready,” he said.

The Good Travel Franchise currently has 16 agents signed up and it is aiming to recruit a further 20 homeworkers within the next six months.

It is targeting mainly new-to-travel homeworkers. Co-founder Rob Bryer and his wife Sue also run an estate agency franchise, The Good Estate Agent, and several of The Good Travel Agent homeworkers – including CEO Jake – also sell property.

Jake said The Good Travel Franchise online training will include selling skills, policies and procedures, tour operator systems, social media, marketing and more.

“It covers off all the skills needed to be a travel agent but also how to grow and market a successful business,” he told Travel Gossip.

Currently the training programme only includes content from Gold Medal and Ocean Holidays, but the company is inviting other tour operators to add their content to the platform.

“We are urging tour operators to get in touch with us if they would like to include a training module about their products and services,” said Jake. “We are looking to expand the e-learning offering with additional advancements throughout the year.”
