Lufthansa Group’s new short-haul carrier will launch flights from Munich in Germany to both Birmingham and Manchester this summer.
Lufthansa City Airlines will also fly to Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Hanover and Bordeaux from its Munich base.
The airline, launching in July, said it will gradually expand its network to offer further destinations in Europe.
It has ordered 40 Airbus A220 aircraft and has options on a further 20.
In a statement, it said: “Passengers on board Lufthansa City Airlines can expect the Lufthansa product offering and customer experience for short and medium-haul routes.”
Flights will be bookable from the end of April.
