National Express has launched a new coach holiday brand, Touromo, to sell short breaks and special-interest day trips across the UK and Europe.

Touromo brings together seven local coach companies operating under the National Express Group.

They are Lucketts Travel, Woods Tours, Stewarts Tours, Solent Tours, Coliseum Coaches, Mortons Travel and Worthing Coaches.

South coast-based Lucketts Travel and Midlands-based Woods Coaches both offer holidays and day trips, all the others offer only day trips. All seven operators previously had their own relationship with travel agents.

Touroma Managing Director John Boughton said: “We have ambitious plans to become a major player in the UK coach holiday sector and the creation of Touromo means we can operate on a national scale.

“There is a strong demand for holidays and day trips and we know that customers are looking for more choice in the way they can travel but don’t want to compromise on quality or comfort.

“Touromo will allow us to enhance the breadth of our offering while still giving travellers the assurance of the great holiday experience you get from a trusted and experienced leisure travel provider.”

It is National Express’s second attempt to offer holiday packages and short breaks, having previously teamed up with Super Break and Laterooms parent, The Malvern Group in 2019 to launch National Express Holidays. Unfortunately, Malvern collapsed shortly before the mainly-direct sell  brand got off the ground.

National Express said it has put ‘significant investment’ into the launch of Touromo, including a multi-channel marketing and advertising campaign with direct mail, social media and a TV commercial.
