MSC Cruises’ ship Virtuosa will return to Southampton next summer.
The ship will operate a series of itineraries, including two-night mini cruises taking in St Peter Port, to 12 nights exploring the Baltics and 14 nights in the Western Med.
The 2022 UK summer season will be the ship’s second, following its inaugural season round the British Isles. High demand for 2021 sailings contributed to the decision to bring a big ship back to Southampton for a second year running.
MSC Cruises UK and Ireland Managing Director Antonio Paradiso said: “We had such an amazing response to sailing MSC Virtuosa from Southampton this summer that we couldn’t turn down the opportunity to bring this popular ship back to UK shores, but this time with a variety of new and exciting itineraries.
“The feedback from passengers has been that they loved MSC Virtuosa and are eager to get back onboard and explore more of the world on this fabulous ship.
“Despite the challenges of 2021 we had a record-breaking year with passengers sailing from Southampton and it was great to see so many new to cruise guests amongst them.
“We have listened to the feedback from consumers and travel agents and have delivered itineraries with more choice, new destinations and longer cruises to warmer climates – all departing from Southampton.”
