TUI-owned Marella Cruises has increased its cabin selection fee for cruises from winter 2023.

The fee only applies to customers who want to choose a particular cabin number, which they can do at the time of booking or up to 15 days before departure.

The cruise line confirmed to Travel Gossip that the fee for winter 2023/24 has risen from £50 to £59, an increase of 18%.

The change appears to have confused some customers, who queried on social media why they had been charged more than the £50 quoted on Marella’s website.

The website has since been updated to state that cabins can be selected ‘from £50’.

Pre-booking cabins allows customers to guarantee they’ll be close to restaurants or the entertainment, or next to friends, or to guarantee a double bed.
