Marella Cruises has put its the new winter 2024-25 cruise programme for Marella Discovery 2 on sale.

The ship’s itinerary has been revised after Marella Discovery 2 had to cancel its Asia and Middle East programme this winter because of safety fears in the Red Sea region.

Marella Discovery 2 will homeport in Malaga, Spain from 7 November 2024 for a series of winter sailings and then homeport in Tenerife and Gran Canaria from December 2024 to March 2025.

After that, the ship will port in Limassol, Cyprus for summer 2025.

From Malaga, there will be two seven-night itineraries: a ‘Spanish Flavours’ cruise on 7 November calling at Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Valencia, Cartegena and Gibraltar; and ‘Sights and Delights’ on 14 November, calling at Lisbon, Portugal, Cadiz, Casablanca, Cartagena and Motril. Prices start at £931 per person.

From Tenerife, Marella Discover 2 will operate a ‘Winter Escape’ cruise to Gibraltar, Cadiz, Gran Canaria and Tenerife on 28 November and ‘Sail into Spring’ on 24 March 2025, which will visit Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Cartagena, Malta and Limassol.

In addition, Marella Cruises is offering more cruise-and-stay options for the winter season, with 100 hotels to choose from.

TUI UK & Ireland Managing Director of Cruise Chris Hackney said: “We are delighted to offer these itineraries out of two of our well-established homeports for this winter. We know guests love the beautiful Canaries and Madeira and as Marella Cruises is part of TUI, we are able to offer incredible experiences ashore with our destination teams as well as a great onboard experience too. All of these itineraries offer cruise and stay options too, with great flying options across various UK airports.

“We do appreciate how disappointing it was to those customers who were impacted by the cancellation of our Asia programme on Marella Discovery 2, but we are confident with the breadth of programme we have to offer something different to our customers.”
