Manchester Airport says it is working to get services back to normal after a power cut at Terminal 3 this morning.
Travellers posted on social media to say flights had been disrupted and queues were building up at check-in, at around 8am.
Some passengers said they were stuck at Heathrow because of the power cut in Manchester, the Manchester Evening News reports.
A Manchester Airport spokesperson issued a statement to Travel Gossip at 9.30am to say: “We experienced a power outage in Terminal 3 just before 8am this morning due to an issue at a substation serving the airport.
“Power has been restored and we are working to return services to normal and minimise disruption. We thank passengers for their cooperation and understanding this morning.”
The airport has tweeted to say power has been restored but added: “Passengers are advised to check with their airline for the most up-to-date flight information.”
