Jet2 has appointed two new independent Non-Executive Directors, Simon Breakwell and Angela Lugar.

They will join the company’s audit and remuneration committees, Simon on 27 April and Angela on 3 July.

In an announcement to the London Stock Exchange, Jet2 said: “Simon launched Uber in Europe, and went on to establish the brand across the region.”

He has also previously worked for British Airways and Expedia, where he managed the and Expedia brands internationally.

He is also a former board member of HomeAway, the online holiday rental marketplace, and was also Chair of Travel Data.

He was also previously CEO and Deputy Chairman of the AA, where he is credited with executing a ‘major business and digital transformation program’.

Simon currently chairs Tiqets, the online attractions ticketing business.

Former Debenham’s MD, Angela has also worked in marketing with Cadbury’s, Coca Cola and Mars, and she spent 10 years at Asda, holding a variety of positions including Trading Director and Global Managing Director for clothing brand George.

She was also CEO of The Original Factory Shop and of N Brown Grou, where she led the business through ‘a significant digital transformation’.

For nine years, Angela was a Non-Executive Director of Manchester Airports Group, where she also chaired the remuneration committee.

She is currently Chair of The Paint Shed Holdings Limited and Non-Executive Director of New Look Retail Holdings Limited, Portmeirion Group plc and ScS Group plc.

Angela also chairs WealthiHer, the network promoting the financial empowerment of women.
