Lufthansa has cancelled most flights to and from its biggest hubs today after pilots walked out.
The airline said about 800 flights have been grounded from Frankfurt and Munich, affecting more than 100,000 passengers.
German pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) announced the walkout on Thursday in a row over pay.
Lufthansa says it has already offered an improved pay offer and ‘cannot understand’ why the union has called the strike.
The strike is due to end at midnight but Lufthansa warned disruption is expected to extend into the weekend.
