LATA Expo will run a dedicated travel agent programme for the first time this year.

The virtual event, which runs from 11-15 October 2021, will host daily seminars and sessions for the whole of the industry, as well as training opportunities for agents to boost their knowledge of Latin America.

Travel Gossip is a media partner of the event, which is run by the Latin American Travel Association (LATA).

Agent training sessions will run every day of the event and each will last for 30 minutes and will provide valuable insight on how to best sell holidays in the region.

LATA Chairman Colin Stewart said: “The travel agent community has become a focal point of our strategy so we are delighted to be able to welcome agents to LATA Expo 2021 with a dedicated travel agent programme for the first time in the show’s history.

“We want to engage with agents from all over the UK and understand how best to support them to be able to increase their destination confidence.

“From our research and focus groups, we know that there are gaps in the travel agent product knowledge related to Latin America and we want to address this to enable sales to the region and support tourism recovery.”

The first, An Introduction to Latin America, will provide an overview of the region’s tourism offering and has been designed for both agents who have an existing knowledge of the destination and those who do not.

Other sessions will cover food, luxury, family travel and wildlife tourism.
