French police officers have shot and killed a man with a knife at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport.

Local media said officers came across the man near the airport’s 2F Terminal while on patrol at around 8.20am local time today.
French radio station RTL said the the knifeman showed ‘signs of aggression’, refused to obey police orders, and allegedly ran towards police.

A police officer opened fire on the man, who is believed to have been homeless. He was treated by emergency services, but later died.

On Twitter, the Paris police department said: “This morning officers neutralised a threatening individual in possession of a knife at the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport.”

Paris newspaper Le Parisien said the man tried to punch one of the police officers, before fetching a knife and again trying to strike at an officer, who responded by firing his weapon.
