Jet2 is warning customers that it is continuing to experience flight delays due to thunderstorms across Eastern Europe.
It said this had led to air traffic control slot restrictions on flights to or from or flying over the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balearics.
Customers already on holiday should allow ‘plenty of time’ to get to the airport in case of bad driving conditions on the way, it said.
“Our UK-based operations team is working hard to minimise disruption to our flying programme, however you may experience some disruption if you are travelling to/from areas affected,” it added in an online statement.
All Jet2 flights are operating and it will continue to try to board passengers as near to the departure time as possible so flights can take off as soon as they’re given ATC clearance, it said.
“We apologise in advance if this causes an extended wait onboard before you depart,” it added.
Earlier this week, Ryanair blasted ATC for delays to flights over the weekend, blaming ‘repeated staff shortages’.
