Jet2 customers are being targeted in a new scam on social media.

The airline sent out an alert on Twitter this week warning passengers not to fall for the trick.

Posting on Twitter from the official @Jet2tweets account it said: “URGENT CUSTOMER NOTICE. We have been made aware of several customers receiving messages advising to contact (and/or similar) to discuss bookings & queries.

“These accounts are NOT affiliated to us, so please DO NOT give personal information/data to them (1/2).

“The only official account for and Jet2holidays on Twitter is @jet2tweets which is a verified ‘blue tick’ account. “

Jet2 was forced to issue a similar warning last month after con artists targeted people rushing to book holidays after the travel rules were relaxed.
