Jet2 has agreed to invest in the development of Moroccan tourism for the next five years after announcing the launch of flights and holidays to the country.

CEO Steve Heapy signed a partnership agreement with the Moroccan National Tourism Office CEO Adel El Fakir at WTM London.

It will include a ‘heavyweight’ joint-marketing campaign, starting next year.

Jet2 has not disclosed the amount being spent on the campaign, or the launch date. When asked if there were any plans to include travel agents in the Morocco campaign, a spokesperson said: “Agents will always be involved.”

The company said the online and offline campaign ‘will showcase the many things that the stunning country has to offer holidaymakers and independent travel agents right across the UK’.

Jet2 said it will meet with the MNTO during the five-year agreement to evaluate and review the ongoing partnership.

It announced last month that it will operate year-round to Agadir and Marrekech, with flights and holidays on sale for both winter 24/25 and summer 25.

Jet2 will fly up to 17 times a week to Morocco from six UK airports, and Jet2holidays and Jet2CityBreaks offer about 50 four and five-star hotels in Marrakech and Agadir.

Steve said: “Working in partnership is critical to the success of our business and signing this major agreement with the Moroccan National Tourism Office is something we are very proud of.

“We are investing directly in the development of tourism in Morocco through this agreement, and we are fully committed to working with our partners at the MNTO to ensure that holidaymakers and travel professionals know all about the huge variety of things to do in this amazing country.”
