Jet2 has recommenced flights and holidays to amber destinations today, with more than 60 flights departing from 10 UK airports.

Countries included the Balearic Islands, the Canaries, Spain, Portugal, Madeira and the Greek islands.

Later this week it will add flights and packages to Dubrovnik and Split after Croatia was added to the green watchlist, giving it more than 40 quarantine-free destinations this summer.

Jet2 said demand had increased since the Government announced that fully vaccinated travellers and children would be allowed to travel to amber countries without having to quarantine on their return.

However, holidaymakers returning from France, which is also on the amber list, will still have to self-isolate for up to 10 days.

CEO Steve Heapy said: “Feedback from customers and independent travel agents has been telling us for some time that there is enormous pent-up demand from holidaymakers looking to get away this summer, so it is fantastic to see full aircraft taking customers away to their favourite sunshine destinations.”
