Jet2 has increased its capacity to Greece by 12% for summer 2024, when it will have seven new routes and more early and late season departures.

It said its ‘enormous’ expansion had been supported by ‘heavyweight’ joint marketing campaign with the Greek National Tourist Office (GNTO).

As a result, it will offer over 100 routes from 11 UK airports to 14 Greek airports this summer.

As well as launching Symi and Athens coast for summer ’24, it has added the following new routes:

  • Liverpool – Corfu
  • Liverpool – Heraklion (Crete)
  • Liverpool – Kos
  • Liverpool – Rhodes (exclusive)
  • Liverpool – Zante (exclusive)
  • Birmingham – Mytilene
  • Newcastle – Chania

In total, it will have more than 1.52 million seats to Greece this summer, with more capacity added to Crete, Corfu, Lesvos, Rhodes and Santorini in April. Jet2 has also extended its Crete and Rhodes programmes until mid-November.

A Jet2 spokesperson said Rhodes’ sales were strong, despite last summer’s wildfires forcing some tourists to flee their hotels. “Rhodes is performing well and we have a fantastic programme on sale in response to the demand,” they said. “We’re looking ahead to a busy summer there, and customers are clearly looking forward to their holidays in Rhodes. We’re on sale from all 11 of our UK bases.”

Meanwhile, the Greek Government has confirmed it will offer free week-long holidays to those Brits who were forced to evacuate hotels and cut short their holidays due to last summer’s fires.

Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy said: “We are looking forward to our biggest ever year in Greece and our joint marketing campaign with GNTO, promoting everything Greece has to offer, is absolutely critical to our ongoing growth and success. This is a real investment in our growth in the country, and we look forward to continuing to boost awareness and sales with our partners through this innovative campaign work, especially early in the year which is such a key booking period for UK holidaymakers.”
