Jet2 is warning customers of five months of industrial action at one of Spain’s busiest tourist airports.
A series of ground handler strikes, which began last week, are set to run until mid-January.
Dates have been announced throughout the rest of September and every month until 14 January, including during the October half-term and at Christmas.
The strikes, at Alicante Airport, are being supported by security service staff, leading Jet2 to warn customers of possible extra congestion in the security area.
The walkouts will take place for an hour in the morning and the evening on the following dates:
September: 26, 29 & 30
October: 1, 3, 6 – 15, 17, 20, 22, 27-29 & 31
November: 1-5, 7, 10-12,14, 17-19, 21, 24-26 & 28.
December: 1-10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22-31.
In a message to customers, Jet2 said: “Please ensure you allow plenty of time to pass through the airport.
“All our flights are due to operate at the scheduled time of departure.”
