Jet2 has announced an expansion of its programme to Greece this summer, putting on sale half a million more seats than in summer 2019.

The company – which claims to be the leading operator to Greece for 2022 – said it had 86% more capacity than two years ago.

In total, it will have more than 1.1 million seats on sale to Greece from the UK this summer.

CEO Steve Heapy said the company also had ambitious plans to launch flights and city breaks to Athens for the first time.

The expanded programme will see it operate flights from 10 UK airports to 15 destinations  in Greece: Athens, Corfu, Chania, Heraklion, Kefalonia, Thessaloniki, Kos, Kalamata, Lesvos, Mykonos, Preveza, Rhodes, Skiathos, Santorini and Zante.

 In total, Jet2holidays will operate to almost 175 resorts across 20 Greek destinations this summer, with 270 weekly services operating during peak periods.

New routes include:

  • Edinburgh to Skiathos
  • Edinburgh to Santorini
  • Edinburgh to Preveza
  • Edinburgh to Halkidiki
  • Bristol to Halkidiki
  • Glasgow to Kos
