Jet2 has immediately added thousands of additional seats to Croatia and Bulgaria for this summer after the Government announced yesterday that they will move to the UK’s green travel list on Monday.

However, it has cancelled flights and holidays to Turkey up to and including 11 August since the country will remain on the red list.

CEO Steve Heapy said: “We know what huge demand there is for green List destinations, so we have made an immediate decision to add thousands of additional seats to Croatia and Bulgaria this summer.”

Both Bulgaria and Croatia will move from amber to green at 4am on Monday, but Croatia will be placed on the ‘green watchlist’, meaning it is at risk of moving back to amber at short notice.

Jet2 will launch two new flights to Bourgas, the gateway to Bulgaria’s popular Sunny Beach resort from Glasgow and Leeds Bradford for the peak summer weeks, and more flights to Dubrovnik from Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, London Stansted and Newcastle, and to Split from Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Stansted.

Jet2 customers who have not been fully vaccinated and who are due to travel to amber list countries, which will include the Balearic islands from Monday, can cancel or amend their bookings, said Mr Heapy.

He added: “The UK Government has committed to reviewing its Traffic Light status of overseas destinations every three weeks. We will continue to review our programme and policies in line with that timetable and we will continue to make considered decisions in the best interests of our customers and independent travel agency partners.”
