Japan will lift remaining COVID-related entry restrictions on 8 May, the Government has confirmed.
From next month, COVID will be categorised as a ‘common disease’ in Japan.
Currently, all arrivals to the country must show proof of three doses of a COVID vaccine or a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure.
The lifting of restrictions in May are expected to boost tourism to Japan, which had some of the strictest border controls in the world.
The UK Foreign Office has yet to update its travel advice to reflect the changes from 8 May.
