TV star Jane McDonald has chartered Ambassador Cruise Lines’ ship Ambience for a seven-day itinerary next year.
The Cruise with Jane McDonald and Friends will sail round-trip from Tilbury on 4 October 2025, on a ‘Treasures of Norway & Denmark’ itinerary calling at Ljmuiden for Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Gothenburg and Oslo, with two sea days.
The cruise will be sold via the Cruise with Jane McDonald website, and not via the UK travel trade. Fans can sign up on the website to receive an email with a link to the cruise presale, which starts at 10am on 23 September.
To accommodate the private charter, Ambassador has told guests due to sail on Ambience’s planned ‘Scandinavian Explorer’ itinerary from 4-11 October the cruise has been cancelled.
Also on the cruise will be comedian Bobby Davro, Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera star John Owen-Jones and drag performer Mary Mac.
A spokesperson for Ambassador said: “Ambassador Cruise Line been presented with a unique opportunity which would require that one of our ships be privately chartered in the latter part of 2025. Following a review of our sailings during the requested time period, we can advise that we have reluctantly made the decision to cancel the Scandinavian Explorer itinerary.
“Ambience will now be fully privatised from 4 -11 October 2025, and we will therefore need to amend guest bookings for the Scandinavian Explorer sailing accordingly.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause our guests and their travel plans. It is never an easy decision to change a cruise itinerary, which is why we have offered those guests due to travel generous options to transfer their bookings.”
