Intrepid has bought a majority stake in Australian adventure tourism business and destination management company JOOB (Jump Out Of Bed).

It is the latest acquisition during a 12-month spending spree for Intrepid, which has also invested in Haka Tours and ANZ Nature Tours in New Zealand, Wildland Trekking in the US and sustainable accommodation business CABN.

Perth-based JOOB consists of three brands – walking company Inspiration Outdoors, adventure tour specialist  Waratah Adventure Tours and Perth kayaking business Sea Kayak Rottnest Island.

Under the deal, JOOB CEO Simon Mendelawitz will join Intrepid as General Manager of its Australian DMC.
