A frustrated Wizz Air pilot told passengers demanding to get off a plane that was held up on the tarmac that he ‘didn’t need’ the hassle.

Passenger Hannah Mace filmed part of his rant and uploaded the video to TikTok, after the flight to Cyprus was delayed for a reported seven hours on the runway at Gatwick this week.

He announced: “You know, I don’t need this, the crew doesn’t need this.

“We are doing what we can to get you out of here. It’s out of my control. Completely out of my control.

“We’re doing everything we can. If you want to get off, I’ll let you off, no problem.”

Many viewers expressed sympathy with the pilot, with one saying: “Fair play, Mr Pilot,” and another commenting: “Completely agree with this pilot put in a position outside of his control but expected to manage it which he can’t but still trying to do his best.”
