New agency Horizon Holidays & Travel Money has hired former Midcounties Co-operative Regional Sales Manager Louise Devall as head of retail.

Louise, who worked for Midcounties for more than 12 years, said she was ‘thrilled’ to be with the Midlands-based business ‘at the start of its journey’.

She said: “The Horizon Holidays & Travel Money stores are a dynamic hi-tech concept. It really is a one-stop travel shop with state-of-the-art digital screens, signage and a Virtual Reality booth and screen to drive sales and enhance customers’ experience.

“This is selling travel in a high foot flow environment in a fun and exciting way.”

Her appointment comes days after Horizon Holidays announced plans to open 50 branches within Morrisons supermarkets.

The agency’s partnership with Morrisons gives it access to marketing to the supermarket’s customer base and 100,000+ Morrisons staff.

The flagship store is based within Morrisons supermarket at the St Andrews Retail Park in Birmingham.

CEO Hamza Waris officially opened the branch this month.

On Louise, Hamza said: “I am delighted to welcome Louise to the Horizon Holidays family.

“We are looking forward to creating a really successful and exciting brand for all our current and future colleagues and customers alike.”

Prior to working with Midcounties, Louise had stints with Harvey World Travel in the mid-2000s and Telford Holiday Hypermarket in the late 1990s.
