Homeworking agency and ATOL holder Wonderluxe Travel has gone into voluntary liquidation.
The luxury tailormade specialist, which was a member of Protected Trust Services (PTS), filed to be wound up on 26 July and David Broadbent and Michael Jenkins of Begbies Traynor have been appointed as joint liquidators.
Wonderluxe Travel’s three homeworkers are handling all existing bookings, having set up their own accounts with PTS.
PTS Executive Director Emma Collis said the liquidation was due to the ill health of a silent partner who was an investor in the business.
“Wonderluxe had three homeworkers all of whom have set up their own independent travel businesses and become PTS members, which is fantastic for both them and Protected Trust Services.
“The homeworkers, with the support of PTS, will assist with the fulfilment of all future bookings to ensure all clients of Wonderluxe are able to complete their holidays as originally booked.
“The liquidation of Wonderluxe is extremely sad and we wish Sheena the very best for her future.
“We are extremely pleased that there has been no disruption to Wonderluxe clients during this difficult time and we very much thank our supplier partners and the homeworkers for their hard work and patience whilst this situation is resolved for the benefit of Wonderluxe clients.”
Wonderluxe, which was founded by Sheena Sumner in 2019, was licensed to carry 1,000 passengers under a franchise ATOL.
Sheena said she was unable to make a public statement ‘due to legal reasons’.
