Hays Travel is opening a branch in Weatherfield, the fictional location for the popular British soap opera Coronation Street.
The UK’s largest independent agency has agreed a product placement partnership deal with the world’s longest running soap to open the store.
Dame Irene Hays, Chair of Hays Travel, said: “We’re very excited to announce that our newest Hays Travel branch will open on the cobbles of Coronation Street.”
Jason Spencer, Business Development Director at ITV, said: “As a family-run business that’s been around almost as long as Coronation Street itself, we’re looking forward to welcoming Hays Travel to Weatherfield.
“We’re excited to be working with Dame Irene and the Hays team.”
Further details and an opening date for the new branch will be announced later.
However, it won’t be the first time a travel agency has appeared on the set of Coronation Street.
In the 1990s, characters Deirdre Barlow and Alec Gilroy worked for the fictional Sunliners Travel Agency.
