Havila Voyages has announced new start dates for ships Havila Polaris and Havila Pollux.

The company issued a statement to say it would soon be fully operational as Polaris and Pollux will start on 29 December 2022 and 22 March 2023 respectively.

It follows a €370 million financing deal that Havila secured with lenders to cover payment for the ships as well as redemption of existing debt.

CEO Bent Martini said: “We are happy to have found a solution.”

The company will contact passengers affected by the changes and offer alternative voyages on Havila Capella and Havila Castor, or alternative dates on the new ships.

Havila had been forced to find alternative funding after the EU imposed sanctions on Russian companies, including Havila’s backer, the leasing company GTLK.
