Advantage Trave Partnership is reporting an increase in bookings for February half term and Easter, with revenue up 25% compared to last year.

February half term bookings are up 15%, with the Canary Islands the most popular destination, accounting for a 15% share of all sales. More than half of Canary Islands bookings (56%) are to Tenerife (pictured) and Lanzarote.

The US is the second most-popular destination for the February half term with a 9% share of bookings. New York is the most popular US destination, accounting for more than half of US bookings.

Mainland Spain completes the top three destinations, with Costa Blanca the most popular Spanish destination.

City breaks account for 18% of half-term bookings, with Prague, Paris and Reykjavik the most popular.

The Easter holidays are also seeing strong demand with bookings up 8%. Again, the Canary Islands are the top-selling destination, taking a 14% share of bookings.

The second most-popular destination in France. Brits are taking advantage of the extended season due to Easter falling earlier this year, with nearly half of ski holidays booked by Advantage agents this Easter to France. Customers are also booking Paris city breaks and Disneyland Paris.

The next most popular destinations for UK skiers are Italy and Bulgaria. Cruise also continues to prove popular, while 38% of all departures are all-inclusive.

Long-haul accounts for 26% of all departures at Easter, with the most popular destinations being US, Dubai and the Caribbean. City breaks are taking a 15% share of departures with the top choices being Rome, Reykjavik, Paris and New York.

Advantage Travel Partnership CEO Julia Lo Bue-Said said: “Travel continues to remain top of the agenda for much of the UK.”
