Almost half of UK adults will be actively looking out for a Black Friday deal on an overseas or package holiday, with the figure increasing to two-thirds of under-34s.
The figures come from new research by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The CAA says 46% of all UK adults are searching for a Black Friday or Cyber Monday deal, 63% of 18-34s are doing so and 70% of 25-34s say they’re likely to book an overseas or package holiday on a Black Friday/Cyber Monday offer.
CAA research also shows that three-quarters of UK consumers reported they plan to fly the same amount or more in the next 12 months, with 18% saying they plan to fly less.
Even in the current economic climate, half of UK adults say even if the price of flights increased by 10% in 2023 compared to 2022, this would not change how much they plan to fly next year, the research shows.
CAA Head of ATOL Michael Budge said: “Even with the sharp rise in the cost of living, it seems there is a real appetite to travel overseas next year.
“Travel companies are increasingly advertising discounts on getaways to UK consumers during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales period.”
He warned people to make sure the Black Friday deal ‘really is a bargain’, watch out for hidden extras and check for ATOL protection.
