Princess Cruises will redeploy Grand Princess from Australia to the Caribbean for the winter 2025/26 season.

The ship will be based in San Juan for a season of Southern Caribbean cruises, marking Princess’ first return to the Puerto Rican port in 10 years.

Grand Princess will carry out seven-night sailings from October 2025 to March 2026. The cruises will visit more ports than any other seven-night Princess cruise to the Caribbean, and go on sale on 16 May.

The first itinerary calls at Tortola, St Kitts, Dominica, Grenada and Barbados, while the second itinerary takes in St Thomas, St Maarten, Antigua, St Vincent and Barbados. Each itinerary will also have a day at sea before returning to San Juan.

The ship had originally been scheduled to sail Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific voyages from Brisbane and Sydney during October 2025 and March 2026.

A Princess spokesperson said: “We constantly review and revise our deployments as part of our ongoing product strategy. As a result, we have made some changes to our 2025/2026 itineraries and will be redeploying Grand Princess from her planned Australia summer season to San Juan, Puerto Rico starting October 12, 2025 and running through March 29, 2026.

“We know that guests love to sail with Princess all over the world and with the expansion of our fleet with Sun Princess this year and Star Princess in 2025 comes many more opportunities to cruise with Princess.

“Guests booked on Grand Princess will be contacted by the Princess Cruises Customer Service Team or their travel agent and offered an alternate cruise. Guests who do not wish to be rebooked on alternate voyages can contact Princess to request a full refund.”

Chief Commercial Officer Terry Thornton said: “Our return to San Juan after more than a decade not only reconnects our guests with a port rich in history and charm, but further expands the variety of departure points across North America that our guests can sail from.

“Puerto Rico remains one of the fastest-growing destinations in the Caribbean and continues to attract new airlift from source markets across the US as well as markets in Europe and South America, which makes it a great fit for Princess. Plus, there are many outstanding options to choose from for a great pre- or post-cruise stay.”
