The Government has published a list of 20 recommended Day 2 Lateral Flow Test providers, with prices ranging from £14.94 to £35.

However, Travel Gossip found that the cheapest test advertised was not yet available and other companies were charging much more than the price advertised on gov.uk.

From Sunday, fully vaccinated travellers arriving in the UK will be able to take a Day 2 Lateral Flow Test instead of a more expensive PCR.

They need to order the test in advance to be able to put the reference number of their test kit on the Passenger Locator Form they’re required to fill in before boarding their flight, ferry, ship or train to the UK.

But Travel Gossip found that several of the companies on the Government list don’t yet have kits available to purchase and some others are charging more than advertised on gov.uk.

The cheapest available test we found from the Government list cost £24, almost £10 more than the cheapest one advertised.

C-19 is advertising Day 2 LFTs for £14.94 on the gov.uk site, but the cheapest currently advertised on its website costs £59.95.

PeploBio is the next cheapest on the gov.uk list, but its website says it has only more expensive PCR kits available.

We were unable to buy a Day 2 LFT test with Testing for All for the advertised price of £19, as the web link appeared to be broken.

Randox Health  is advertising click-and-collect LFTs for £20, but on its website it’s charging £24 – £31.50, without a discount code.

Gov.uk says Boots has Day 2 LFTs for £21, but on its website the cheapest test currently available is £49.99.

Project Screen, the next cheapest company on the list, is advertising home-testing Day 2 kits for £22 but doesn’t yet have any available.

Chronomics says it will have Day 2 LFTs for £23.50, but at the moment travellers can only register their interest.

Gov.uk advertises test from Affinity Health for £25, but on its website it currently only has PCR Day 2 tests, for £75.

Similarly, the list suggests Collinson will have Day 2 LFTs for £28.75, but at the moment it is selling only PCR Day 2 tests for £69.

Medicspot is advertising LFTs for £29, but currently these aren’t listed on its website.

Dam Health is advertising Lateral Flow Tests for under £30, but these don’t appear available to book on its website just yet.

Which is the cheapest Day 2 LFT available?

The cheapest available Day 2 LFT we found from the Government list was from Covid Smart, for £24. The next were AlphaBiolabs and Better2Know, which both charge £29.50. Everything Genetic has Day 2 LFTs for £30.
