A service that gives passengers PCR results within three hours is now available at Heathrow airport and will be rolled out at Gatwick shortly.
Test provider Randox is offering the service for £95, currently only available at the Collinson Travel Test Centre at Heathrow, for passengers who want to be tested on the day of departure, rather than in advance.
Tests are administered by trained medical practitioners, minimising the risk of inconclusive results.
Collinson Global Medical Director Dr Simon Worrell said: “No longer do travellers need to take a PCR test three days before travel, and so risk contracting the virus in the interim.
“They’re a complete game-changer for anyone looking to travel at this time, making the testing process as seamless as possible for passengers as they can conveniently take their test on their way to the airport, rather than needing to find somewhere to be tested days in advance.”
