Former Carnival UK Sales Vice President Alex Delamere-White has joined Hurtigruten Expeditions as Chief Commercial Officer.

It marks his return to the cruise industry after two years working at retirement home developer McCarthy Stone as Chief Commercial Officer.

Alex will lead Hurtigruten Expedition’s London-based team on an interim basis.

The team has recently been boosted with the arrival of Alex’s former colleague, Nathaniel Sherborne, who became Vice President of Sales and Marketing UK and Nordics last month.

Nathaniel, previously P&O Cruises Sales Director, had also worked at McCarthy Stone as Group Sales Director.

In a statement, Hurtigruten said: “Alex brings with him a broad range of cruise experience having led multi-site sales and marketing teams, e-commerce as well as loyalty programmes for Carnival UK, including P&O Cruises, Cunard and Princess Cruises for over a decade.”

Group CEO Daniel Skjeldam added: “Bringing this depth of industry talent into our global commercial team at a time when we are seeing incredible interest in our expedition products will continue to strengthen our position.” 

Alex’s appointment comes as Hurtigruten opens a new regional office in Shanghai.
