The Foreign Office (FCDO) has updated its travel advice for Sri Lanka after the island lifted remaining COVID restrictions.

It said that visitors are no longer required to show proof they’ve been vaccinated and they don’t need to take a negative COVID test.

The announcement was made by the Sri Lanka Ministry of Health on 7 December.

However, visitors who become infected with COVID during their stay must self-isolate in a hotel, hospital or a place of residence, it said.

The Ministry made is clear that any costs for treatment for COVID must be borne by the holidaymaker.
