The Foreign Office  (FCDO) is no longer advising against non-essential travel to the whole of India.

In an update to its travel advice today, it said: “Following the peak of India’s second Covid-19 wave in May, pressure on the Indian health care system has lifted, as the number of Covid-19 cases has fallen.”

India is on the UK Government’s amber travel list, however there are only a limited number of flights between the UK and India at the moment.

The FCDO is still advising against travel to parts of India that border Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir, with the exception of Ladakh and within the city of Jammu.
