The UK Foreign Office has issued an update to travellers using Paris Gare due Nord train station today.

It follows an incident this morning when a man was shot by police after six people were stabbed at the station.

One of the six has major injuries, according to reports. Another was an officer, who was stabbed in the back but was saved by a bulletproof vest, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said.

The attacker, who was shot several times by police, was taken to hospital.

The FCDO said: “French police have responded to a stabbing incident this morning, 11 January, at the Gare du Nord train station in Paris.

“Although the incident is now over, please follow guidance from the local authorities whilst investigations continue and contact your travel operator for updates if travelling to/from Gare du Nord.”
