Travellers to Argentina are being warned of possible transport disruption and roadblocks in the capital, Buenos Aires as World Cup celebrations lead to chaotic scenes.

The country won the World Cup last Sunday, beating France in a penalty shoot-out.

A celebratory open-top bus parade by the World Cup-winning team had to be cut short yesterday after fans mobbed the streets.

Videos show one fan falling off a bridge onto the bus and tumbling to the ground.

At least one person died after falling through a roof, and a child is in a serious condition after being hit by a piece of stone that fell from a moment.

The team had to be evacuated from the city by helicopter after fans clashed with security forces.

The Foreign Office said travellers going to Buenos Aires airport should book their transport in advance and allow extra travel time.
