The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) has extended the weather warning it issued for Italy last week to include Tuscany.
The FCDO warned last week of flooding in the Emilia Romagna region, which had caused some rail services to be cancelled.
Its warning has now been updated to say: “Severe weather and flooding is currently affecting many areas of Italy, particularly Emilia Romagna and Tuscany. Rail services and roads may be affected.”
The FCDO continues to advise British travellers to check with their tour operator or accommodation provider before travelling and follow the instructions of local authorities.
It advises Brits to check the Ferrovie dello Stato and Civil Protection Department (CPD) websites for more information. The CPD site is in Italian only.
