An update from the Foreign Office confirms that Japan will not be accepting foreign visitors from tomorrow.
Foreigners without resident status will not be allowed to enter the country, other than in ‘exceptional’ circumstances, it said.
The description of exceptional circumstances is currently available only in Japanese, but those entering Japan in the ‘public interest’, or who have humanitarian requirements, it added.
From 1 December 2021, all those entering Japan must quarantine for 14 days, the first six of which must be in a government-provided hotel if arriving from the UK.
