A flight to Germany was forced to divert to Chicago after a passenger’s laptop overheated and set on fire in the cabin.
Two cabin crew members managed to put out the blaze before the Boeing 747 landed.
Lufthansa flight LH457 was heading from Los Angeles to Frankfurt when the incident happened.
After diverting to Chicago O’Hare International Airport, passengers were kept on the ground for around four hours before the flight continued, according to The Independent.
In a video shared on social media, smoke can be seen filling the cabin at the time of the incident.
On Instagram, a former cabin crew member @aflyguytravel wrote underneath the video: “For those that think flight attendants are there to just serve your food and drinks, please bookmark this video and remember to respect the crews’ safety instructions, they’re meant to keep you safe and alive during your time in the sky.”
