Finnair has apologised for cancelling flights out of Helsinki because of a strike by cabin crew.

The Finnish Transport Workers’ Union AKT called a two-day strike for yesterday and today.

Chief Operating Officer Jaakko Schildt apologised and said the airline is working to reroute customers as soon as possible.

The strike is due to end on Monday afternoon, but the airline is warning there could be a knock-on effect to later services.

Passengers have been told to check the status of their flight.
