Consumer events and festival organiser Brand Events is looking to work with the trade to help promote its four-day Gourmet Getaway package to Cornwall this summer.
The Gourmet Getaway is Brand Events’ first foray into staycation packages, having previously put together events such as CarFest, Taste Food Festivals and Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park food and music festivals.
Show Director Brenda Daly said: “We are very keen to work with the trade to promote this break. We know how difficult the last 18 months has been for the travel industry and we would like to do what we can to help them and we thought working together to promote UK experiences would be a really positive move.”
The four-day festival break, from 17-20 August, includes four nights’ camping at Roscarrock Manor Farm, which overlooks Port Issac, entry to the two-day Travelling Feast food and music festival at the Cornwall Showground and two days of exclusive experiences at Roscarrock Manor Farm campsite.
These include intimate gigs from The Cuban Brothers and Judge Jules, talks with Michelin-starred celebrity chef Paul Ainsworth and friends and a Paradise Carriage Brunch Cruise from Padstow with food by Niall Keating.
There will be live performances at the two-day Travelling Feast festival from Kaiser Chiefs, Rudimental DJ, Gabrielle, The Milk, Norman Jay, Gentleman’s Dub Club, and Fisherman’s Friend alongside food and cooking demonstrations from John Hooker Paul Ainsworth, Niall Keating and Angela Hartnett.
Ms Daly added: “The Gourmet Getaway is the first time that we have created such an exclusive festival experience. There are only 400 places available so it will have a wonderful intimate feel to it, particularly when festival-goers will be able to enjoy chats around the campfire with Paul Ainsworth and intimate performances from music legends Judge Jules and The Cuban Brothers.
“With 2021 being the year of the staycation and the pandemic stopping people from going abroad, we really wanted to create a truly unique experience to showcase some of the best food and music experiences that this country has to offer in one of the most stunning coastal locations. We think this Gourmet Getaway experience will appeal to everyone, from families to couples and groups of people who look festivals and are saving on not going abroad and want to have an experience here in the UK.”
Ticket prices cost from £400 per adult and £325 per child under 16 with under-fives free and includes camping, entry to the two-day festival at the Cornwall Showground and the VIP experiences at Roscarrock Manor Farm.
Pre-erected tents that sleep two, four and six people cost £240, £440 and £600 respectively. Prices are per tent not per person and come with inflatable tents ready to use.
Campervan passes cost £100 and £160 with an electric hook-up.
