Eurostar has stopped selling seats on all trains leaving London on Saturday 11 February, at the start of the school half-term holiday.

The cross-Channel train operator said it was a precautionary measure while it assessed the impact on its timetable of planned strikes in France.

The strikes are due to go ahead on Tuesday 7 February and on Saturday 11 February, according to the UK Foreign Office. Eurostar said it was also aware of action on Wednesday 8 February.

Schools in England break up on 10 February and thousands of families are due to travel to French ski resorts on Saturday.

“As soon as we have confirmed information to share, we will update this page and contact passengers if their Eurostar journey is affected by timetable changes,” said Eurostar.
