Eurostar has introduced more flexible fares and has renamed its three classes of ticket.

Standard, Standard Premier and Business Premier classes on cross-channel routes and Standard, Comfort and Premium classes on Continental routes will be replaced by three new unified travel classes: Eurostar Standard, Eurostar Plus and Eurostar Premier.

The new classes went on sale on Tuesday, for journeys from 4 November.

Eurostar Standard is the basic fare, which does not include food and drinks. Eurostar Plus includes ‘extra comfy seating’, more workspace, a light meal with onboard drinks.

Eurostar Premier is the most flexible ticket, offering an all-day boarding guarantee, exclusive lounge access, a dedicated priority lane on cross-channel routes, and premium food.

Eurostar Standard and Eurostar Plus passengers will be able to exchange their ticket as often as needed, without paying a fee, up until one hour before departure, although there may be a fare difference.

Passengers can also request a refund up to seven days before departure, at a £25 fee.

From 4 November, Eurostar Premier passengers will be able to change or refund tickets without a fee up to two days after their departure date.

Chief Business Development and Integration Officer Matthieu Quyollet said: “Eurostar is setting new standards for international travel by providing the greatest flexibility, clarity and comfort to customers looking to enjoy Europe in the most sustainable way.

“The new aftersales policy across all of Eurostar’s travel classes means that all customers can now take advantage of more flexibility and choice than ever before and enjoy a unique travel experience for their summer holiday or autumn break.”
